Conclusions

OSA-Parlay is seen by many in the industry as the natural successor of Intelligent Networks, now that IN standardization has come to a virtual standstill in ITU-T, ETSI and ANSI.  On the other hand Web Services are now providing a more IT oriented alternative to OSA-Parlay, and there are initiatives like "Parlay X" to reconcile the OSA-Parlay and Web Services concepts.  Many vendors are now offering Parlay-OSA servers, but it still remains to be seen whether Parlay-OSA will become a large scale industry success.
