"All players
are heading towards the service focus.
Geographical
proximity in taken for granted and international footprint helps only with large
corporate accounts." A.D. Little
The
shift in demand and the rapid advance in IP technologies provide the opportunity
to lead the transformation of the telecom industry with the creation of
a new model of telecom operator, where strong focus on customer needs
and the development of new services is supported by a broadband access network
and an IP core. The
migration to Next Generation Networks will be a catalyst to
change the dynamics of the telecoms market. Increased functionality,
customisation and reduced unit costs will be the rewards for operators with the
scale and resources to take advantage of this technology
shift.
In the current environment mobile
telecom operators' technology investments, marketing and strategic initiatives
will have to adapt to the requirements of their customers. To be successful
their products needs to stand out in a crowded marketplace. Operators have also
invested billions in advanced network technologies such as 3G, HSDPA and IMS as
they develop ever more sophisticated services to gain commercial advantage in an
increasingly competitive market. The Telecommunication Service Evolution
and NGN Forum will discuss key strategies to enable mobile telecom
operators are to compete in this fastest growing industry.
Marcus Evans produced and ran 4
annual CEE Mobile Forum events. However this year we want to expand the
scope primarily to cover the rest of Europe and to a lesser extent
Asia, Middle East and Africa. To build on the good will we have
in the area we will still locate this event in the region i.e. Prague and have a
strong CEE presence in the speaker line up (senior executives, CEOs, CTOs and
board members) from regional fixed and mobile operators and service providers.
The focus for our event in
2007
In order to make the event as
forward looking as possible and to provide content that will be relevant to our
expanded geographical market primarily from the rest of Europe, we will focus on
the advanced mobile networks services and content developments. We will discuss
3G which is a stage in which operators throughout West and
East
Europe are at presently and introduce the
concept of the NGN which will be the network architecture of the future. We will
introduce the concept of future all-IP networks, IMS and network convergence and
the services such as mobile video with great QOS levels that these will
enable.
